The Studio

We are a group of architects and interior designers, who together, have an innate understanding of the consideration of space and interiors. We have a deep respect for the team environment and for what each individual brings to the process. We are passionate about good design.

About

The Jolson Studio’s focus is creating beautifully crafted spaces with seamless connections between Architecture, Interiors and Landscape.

Our work primarily includes high end residential and multi residential architecture and interiors.

We are a boutique practice of Architects and Interior designers, located in Prahran. Our open plan office is design focused, collaborative, and outcome driven.

Purpose of the Role
The Ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced Interior Designer who is passionate about design and detail who has the ability to co-ordinate all aspects of project delivery.

You will be working on bespoke, high end, contemporary, single and multi-residential projects and surrounded by a highly competent and focused team.

You will have strong design skills, require a high standard of interior documentation, detailing and product knowledge. Prior experience with consultant and project coordination is essential.
 
High efficiency in Revit is essential.

The position is a full-time role that may also include Concept Design, Design Development, Planning and further Contract Documentation project.
 
Mentorship 
The role will be under the mentorship of a Senior Associate in our interiors team, and will require some autonomy.
 
Skills & Competencies 

  • Degree qualification with 5 – 7+ years experience;
  • Documentation experience in boutique multi residential projects and high end single residential housing;
  • Exceptional technical skills required to produce and deliver detailed construction documentation packages;
  • Great interpersonal and clear communication skills (both written and oral) including the ability to negotiate and discuss items with consultants, contractors and co-workers on all levels are important aspect of this role;
  • An ability to accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Ability to apply knowledge in a practical manner;
  • Willingness to assist and support your team members; and
  • Highly proficient with Revit and Indesign.

Main Duties & Responsibilities  
The requirements of the role include:

  • Correspondence and information sourcing from suppliers;
  • Preparation of meeting minutes and file notes;
  • Construction materials and product research;
  • Assisting other staff members with queries;
  • Create a summary for product research;
  • Maintain established practice procedures;
  • Contribute to documentation from design development through to construction;
  • FF&E research and selection; and
  • Understanding and comply with project and practice quality standards.

The role requires proficiency in:

  • Revit, Outlook, MS Project, Excel and Word
  • Time management, including keeping accurate records of your time and enter your timesheets
  • Understanding and prioritising task requirements
  • Proficiency in Lumion, Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop an advantage but not a requirement

Reports to Directors and Senior Associates

Qualifications Bachelor of Interior Design or Interior Architecture
